OTC @50 2019
Visitors to the Ghana Pavilion at the 50th Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas, have described the concept of bringing all Ghanaian companies under one roof at the conference as unique because of the easy access to information. According to them, unlike many other countries, the Ghana pavilion has provided a one-stop shop for patrons to have easy access to all kinds of information.
Presently, more than 26 companies in the oil and gas sector of the country including the Consolidated Shipping Agencies Limited (Conship), the Ministry of Energy, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, National Petroleum Authority, Gas among many other agencies under the sector ministry, showcased their worth at the conference which was attended by more than 70,000 players in the industry from across the world.” (Charles Okine, Daily Graphic, 2019).
This year’s OTC was a successful one. It was a well-attended Ghana Day Event held in the OTC Arena. This saw the likes of many IOC CEO’s and a high-level Ghanaian delegation attendance to discuss Ghana’s petroleum industry and improving local participation in this ever-growing industry. The excitement and evident buzz around Ghana’s oil and gas industry was very apparent and this leaves us with a great level of anticipation for what’s ahead.
