Conship Donates to Ashiaman Tsuibleoo No. 1 School

Conship over the years have embarked on several relevant CSR projects within our operating regions; precisely the Greater Accra and the Western Regions; donating mostly to health institutions and the educational sector and other private and governmental agencies.

For the year 2020; Conship decided to support the education sector once again as we strongly believe that the right form of education will set the pace and go a long way to impact the general social and economic state of every country. For this, the CSR /HR team scouted for less privileged schools within the Tema Metropolis specifically Ashaiman and Kpone Municipalities to identify one of the schools that we can support.

Out of the lot, the team settled on Ashiaman Tsuibleoo No. 1 School at Zenu – Ashiaman, who was in dying need of an ICT laboratory for their students and had an available old classroom that could be converted into such. We were keen on taking up this project because the world now is evolving in terms of technology and even though pupils are being taught ICT in schools as part of their core subject, they do not have practical experience and exposure to the computer during their classes. By embarking on this project, we also seek to ensure that no child is left behind in terms of ICT education.

The project began within the first quarter of the year 2020 but was stalled due to the COVID-19pandemic; and the subsequent government measures and closure of schools. Once the schools were re-opened for the junior high students to complete their term; the team took advantage of this and pushed for the completion of the project.

Conship has now completed the refurbishment of the empty classroom into an ICT laboratory for the students at the school The project donation cost GHC 40,000.00 which includes ICT equipment such as.

  • 10 Dell desktop and accessories
  • 10 Computer desks and chairs
  • Teacher’s desk and chair with Dell laptop
  • 43-inch Panasonic TV (smart TV with high specs to aid in teaching)

Other items donated were Conship branded souvenirs to the school.

The project was commissioned by the Management team led by the CEO Dr. Macdonald C. Vasnani with support from a Board representative Mr. Ben Nartey on Friday 30th October 2020 at 11:00 am.
